Watched PK movie

Last week, on 23rd December,  we went to watch PK movie. There were total 6 members including me Niranjan, Akshatha, Deepa, Kalyani and Uzma.
The show was at 7pm in the evening. We left directly from the office at 5pm in the evening.

PK is an excellent movie which describes the discrimination we have created in the name of religions.

Christmas eve celebration at Akshatha and Uzma's home

Yesterday on 24th December, we enjoyed the Christmas eve celebration at Akshatha and Uzma's home. We were total 7 people including me, Niranjan, Juhi, Deepa, Kalyani, Akshatha and Uzma.

Trip to Winter Wonderland

Yesterday (on 29th Nov) we went to winter Wonderland. We were total 7 people. Me, my roommate Niranjan, and my office friends Uzma, Kalyani, Juhi, Akshatha and Deepa.

First movie in London

Yesterday on 14th November(friday) we went to see our first movie in London. Interstellar..
It was an awesome movie with very HiFi concepts about intergalaxy travel and black holes. We reached the theatre around 8 pm. Movie timing was from 8.30pm. The movie ended at around 12pm. We reached home at 12.30 pm in the night.

The Keyboard Purchase

I saw the ad of second hand keyboard on a classifieds website.
The place was chest hunt which was quite distant place from my office. But the keyboard was very nice and very cheap as well so I decided to buy it. I left from office at around 6pm in the evening. It was raining all outside. I went to Liverpool street station. From there I have taken the greater Angelia train. It took me around one hour to reach the destination. From station the place was still 2km away. So i walked in the rain for 2km. After that I reached the person's home who was selling the keyboard.
On return journey he dropped me to the station by his car. From there i came by greater angelia train to Liverpool station. Carrying such a heavy keyboard in hand was very difficult that to train. But somehow I managed it and reached home at around 11pm in the night. That was a very memorable day.

Oxford circus and Picadilly circus

Yesterday night we went to Oxford Street and Picadilly circus. We left fronm home at 9pm. We took the bakerloo line train to Oxford circus station.

The view outside the Oxford circus station was just awesome.  There were big TV and decoration everywhere.  There were some bunch of people singing and dancing. 

We had some food at mcd and then walked along the Oxford Street.  The Oxford Street is very beautiful.  It has also got Europe's first apple showroom.

After some walk we reached Picadilly circus. It was much more beautiful than Oxford circus. Due to limited time,  we didn't get chance to see it thoroughly but we enjoyed spending time over there. We will definitely come back there sometime. ..

The Rats Problem

We never thought of this but we faced this in London.  Yes there were rats in our room and not just one or two. In one day only we caught 7 rats. Another day we caught 5 rats and everyday on an average we were catching two to three rats. They were eating our food items papers plastics etc.  We were really frustrated by seeing this everyday. We were even have to get up in the midnight because of the rats.

The Internet Connection Problem

We never thought that taking internet connection in london will be problem but we faced it. The room which we took had no Internet connection but the aunty said we will get the connection in one week.

Trip to Scotland

Last weekend,  we went to Scotland.  It was really awesome trip. We were four friends, Niranjan, kalyani and uzma my office friends.  We left from London on 3rd

October,  friday night. We had our bus booked at Victoria station.  We left for Edinburgh at 11pm. That was a national express bus to Edinburgh.

After a whole night journey,  we reached Edinburgh on 4th October,  Saturday morning. It was really cold weather outside and there was also little rain. We went to washroom to get refreshed and then put our luggage in the lockers. The first thing we targeted to see was Edinburgh castle.

One of our friend paddy also joined us on the way. Edinburgh castle is really nice structure. 

From there we went to see forth bridge. Forth bridge is really an engineering marvel. Its more than 200 years old. There we have taken a cruise which took us close to the bridge.  The view was just awesome. We were also able to some seals in the see.

From there, we went to craymond island.  It was a low tide time so we were able to go deep inside.  We climbed the hills to reach up and taken lots of photos there.

In the evening,  we went back to bus station from where we have taken our bags and then went to train station. We had our train booked from Edinburgh to Glasgow.

It was a two hours journey from Edinburgh to Glasgow. On 4th night only, we reached Glasgow. Our friend paddy lived in Glasgow only. We reached Glasgow around 10 pm. Glasgow is a very beautiful city. The temperature was around 7 - 8 degree.  We walked all the way from train station to George square,  the central Glasgow.  There we had our dinner in an Indian hotel. After that we reached our hotels around 11 pm.

It was basically a hostel type hotel called euro hostel. But it was a really nice and comfortable hotel. 

Next day morning I.e. on 5th of October,  we were ready for our first Glasgow tour. We have booked a tour company called discover Scotland tours. The tour was scheduled to leave at 8.40 in the morning. 

When we boarded the bus, what we saw was really surprising.  We four were the only tourist in the bus. No one else was there in the bus apart from the driver. It was kind of private bus tour for us.

The climate was really cold outside. The tour driver was also very interesting.  The told some really interesting stories about Scotland and also played some Scottish songs on the way.

The first place which we saw was a hilly area. It was amazing view. Some car sports was also going on there. We took few photos there and had some coffee.

Next we saw a queens castle and then went to Oban's distillery. Whiskey is one of the most famous product of Scotland and oban distillery showed us the process of manufacturing of whiskey.  We also tasted some whisky. They also gifted us a small whisky glass.

Some whisky kept there was as old as 30 years and as costly as 2lakh INR.

After a full lot of adventure whole day, we started our journey back to Glasgow.  On the was we saw some deers. Our driver stopped the bus and we came out and took some pictures with the deers. They were female deers and were really beautiful.

On the way we also saw some rivers caves and some old bridges more than 300 years old.

At around 6 O clock in the evening,  we reached Glasgow. From there, we went to Paddy's home. Paddy had prepared awesome pavbhaji for us. It was really superb. We really enjoyed a lot there.

At 12 o'clock in the night, we celebtated the birthday of Kalyani.  She cut the cake and then we took lots of photos.

After that we left for our hotel in the Glasgow.  Paddy's roommate Prasad dropped us to the hotel.

Next day on 6th of October,  we were ready for our next tour. That was again a discover Scotland tour but this was scheduled to depart at 7.40 am in the morning.

It was raining a lot that day. We reached at 7.30 am on the exit gate of hotel and started waiting for the tour bus driver. We didn't received any call from them. After 15 minutes wheb I called the customer service,  they said the bus driver has already left from the hotel and if you have to catch the bus, you have to walk to George square which was around 15 minutes walk from hotel. We had no choice but to walk. We started walking in the rain towards George square.  After 15 minutes we reached there but we were unable to find the tour bus. We were searching fir the bus here and there.we also tried calling the customer service but they were not picking the phone.we thought we are going to miss the tour. Suddenly Niranjan got  the call from the tour operator and they told us the location of bus. Finally we got the bus. .But hahalf of the excitement was already lost...

Then we started our second day journey of Scotland trip. It was raining out and the view was very beautiful out there. Our first stop was haunted hotel. It was just named as haunted but it wasn't actually haunted.  There were several mock bodies of animals kept there. There was also a very beautiful waterfall on the back side of hotel. We took several photos there. And then returned back to bus for continued journey. 

On the way driver told us interesting information about the lake there call lock ness. It was said that there is monster living in the lake. It was first seen around 800 years back and after that it was seen several times.  Last time it was seen around two years back.

Then we went to see the castle and had an awesome trip on cruise. We took loads of photos on the cruise. The cruise trip was best part of the journey of that day. The rain was also stopped and sun was shining.We enjoyed a lot on cruise.

After sometime, we started

 our return journey towards Glasgow. 

it took around 3 hours and around 7pm, we reached Glasgow. We went to Paddy's home,  took some rest and around 11in the night, took the bus for london. 

After a whole night journey, next day morning at 7am we reached London.  It was really awesome and memorable trip.

Trip to Victoria and Science museum

Today we went to Victoria and Albert Museum and then Science Museum.  Both are very popular museum of london.
Victoria and Albert museum is more about variety of collection from 18th century to latest collection from last month's new invention.
Science museum is collection of scientific research and development from old ages.
We really enjoyed a lot visiting both the museums.  But got tired a lot... :)

Trip to Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace

On Sunday, 14th Sep 2014, we went to Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace, the most famous historical places in London and Britain.

Our journey started from Wembley central Station,  the nearest tube station from our home. From there we took the bakerloo line train to Charring Cross station.  Trafalgar square is just outside the station.

Trafalgar square is very beautiful places. The square consists of a large central area with roadways on three sides and a terrace to the north.

There were many artists and performers in the area showing there talents. The view was just awesome.  We have taken our cameras out and started photography. 

Near to Trafalgar Square is Buckingham Palace.  It is the home of queen Victoria. Its located in the city of Westminster. We really enjoyed the trip to these two most famous areas of London

Opening Bank Account

Opening a bank account had never been more difficult than this. We were trying to open the bank account since last two weeks but for that we have to take an appointment with the bank and there was no appointment available for next 5-6 days.

On one Saturday early morning,  we went to the bank for opening the bank account. The person in the bank said we cannot open bank account without an appointment.  The next appointment is after 3 days. So we have no other option but to come after 3 days.

After 3 days, when we reached bank, they said the letter which we got from our company is not in a correct format so we should get a new letter from our employer. That appointment got wasted and next appointment was again afer 4 days and that too in different branch.  But we had no option that to go for it.

Then we went to our employer to get the bank letter in new format. After 4 days, I was supposed to go to bank but due to an urgent issue I got about 10 minutes late for the appointment.  When I reached the bank,  they said my slot is already given to someone else.  Today it won't be possible to open account. . Book some other appointment :(

I was really disappointed. Finally on Saturday 13th sep, I went to bank without appointment. They said all the slots are booked but if someone doesn't turn up for his or her appointment,  we can give you the slot.  Luckily no one turned up for 10 am slot and I got that slot. And finally got my bank account openend... :)

Shifted to New Home

Today on 31st August 2014,  I shifted to my new home from the hotel. The new home is in Wembley.  It is a 1 bedroom apartment with separate kitchen and bathroom. It is a very clean and spacious flat. The rent is 750 pounds per week and we paid 750 pounds deposit also. We also purchased pillow bedsheets and quilts etc. Now I am enjoying in  my new home.. :)

Trip to London Eye and Big Ben

Yesterday on 24th August,  I went to see the most famous infrastructure in London,  the London eye and Big Ben.

I took a tube from hammer Smith to Westminster,  the place where London eye and Big Ben is situated.  It took me around half an hour to reach there. It was completely underground route.

After half an hour journey,  I reached Westminster station.  The first structure I saw after coming out of station was Big Ben.  I was like wow... Finally I saw something which I have always saw on Internet or my dreams :)

Near to Big Ben is the London eye, on the bank of river thames.  The cruises on the river and crowd on the bridge, the view was just awesome.

After 10 minutes of walk,  I reached near London eye. The queue for ticket was too long. So I preferred to roam around.  There were several musicians performing nearby. It was a really nice experience.

At the same place I saw a board saying experience london eye in 4D.
I was really excited to see it so I went inside.  They gave a 3d goggle. We reached in a dark room with big white screen.

After a wait of 2 minutes,  the show started. It was a 3d view of London eye. The experience was just awesome.  They showed the aerial view of london eye along with some fireworks and bird's eye view from it. Watching it ib 3d was just amazing. Along with that they enlightened the hall with the lights in sync with the 3d movie making it a real 4D experience. The show was of around 4 minutes and it was just awesome. And this complete show was absolutely free.

Initial Days in London

So sienna is located in hammer Smith area. I went outside to have a look around. It was a great area. I had some burgers in mc Donalds.

I have purchased a local sim card.
There was a metro station near by . I have purchase the Oyster travel card. Oyster is a travel card which can be used to travel in metro or bus across london.

I have started searching for rooms.  All the rooms are very small and very expensive.  They call it box rooms. It is very small room with just one bed. I was really disappointed seeing such rooms. There were several good rooms but they were very far from office.  location.

Finally after long research,  I got a good room in Wembley area. It was a nice double room with double bed, cupboards,  wifi and all other facilities.

Finally Traveling to London

After a long wait of more than two months,  finally on 14 th of August 2014, I have got news that I have to travel to london tomorrow I.e on 15th August. It was such a short notice but I was ready. I have started with my formalities,  got tickets and hotels bookes.

My flight was from Mumbai Airport at 7 am in the morning. It was a gulf air flight with 2 hour halt at Bahrain airport.

I left from pune at around 9 pm. It was a mixed feeling leaving a place where you lived so long for so long time.

I reached mumbai Airport at 12.30 am. It was 15th August and mumbau airport was colored in the color of flag. It was looking awesome.

It was still 4-5 hours to go before boarding will start for my flight.  I was wandering around the airport looking the new beautiful mumbai international airport.

At around 4.30 am, check in was started. I have done web check in so I dont have to stand in long queue. I have to just get the luggage checked it. I proceeded with check in. I got my boarding pass. But suddenly some thing happened that I never wanted to happen. They weighed my bag and it was around 5-6 kg more than allowed limit. I asked them to adjust it but they were very strict. They just said either throw away the excess weight or pay around 15 thousand rupees. I was really disappointed.  I was in mumbai and pune was very far. Also there was no one in mumbai whom I can give excess weight.  Finally I decided to pay 15 thousand rupees. After that they checked in my luggage.

At 7 in the morning,  I left for Bahrain airport.  It was airbus A320 flight.  After travel of 2 and half hours I reached Bahrain airport.

Bahrain is a small country in gulf.  The airport was small but very beautiful. I had some coffee there and then started waiting for my next flight.

After 2 hours boarding started for my next flight. After a total travel time of 7 and half hours, I reached Heathrow Airport on 15th August 2014 at 7 pm Indian time. At London,  it was around 3.30 pm.

London airport is just awesome. Really stunning. 

A cab was booked to drop me from airport to my hotel, so sienna.
After half an hour of drive, I reached so sienna. It was a nice studio apartment with all basic facilities.

Postponed travel plan

It was like all set to go to London.  I have got my air tickets and hotel in london booked. But suddenly got a call from onsite team member.  He asked me to cancel all the tickets and bookings. I was really surprised what's going on. I asked him why do you want me to cancel the tickets.  He said there is some change in the plan here at onsite.  Some contracts needs to be signed.  After that the tickets were cancelled.

Its now more than 1 month and I am still waiting for my next travel plan.

By the way tomorrow (4th July 2014) is my another interview with client. Lets hope for the best :)

Applying For Visa to UK

Yesterday, I went to UK Visa office for Visa application. I left from home at 9.00 am in the morning and reached Visa office at 10. I have already applied online for Visa hence it became very easy at visa office to complete the process. They took the documents, asked few simple questions like company name, date of birth, address etc and then collected the document.
Another team taken the biometrics and then that's it. They asked the documents will be sent via courier in 2-3 working days. Finally after 4 working days, I have got my UK Visa.
